  • The MEDIUM spaces are $360 (1/2 of large size)

  • The JUMBO spaces are $1780 (covers 1/2 of 1 side of the postcard)

I don't have a design for my ad, can you help?

Yes!

If you don't already have an ad designed for your business, or don't have one designed to fit the specific sizes on our jumbo postcards, I will design your ad for you! Design help is included in your ad price.

Once you have selected the size of your ad and have made a payment, I will send you a google drive link where you can upload your logo or any imagery specific to your business that you would like me to use while designing your ad.

We may go back and forth a couple times to get your ad just right, and then you'll need to give approval of the design and complete a full payment 2 weeks before the mailing date, so that our scheduled printing and mailing is not delayed.

Can I use my own ad design?

"I have had my ad previously designed and I love the effectiveness of it. Can I use that when I advertise on the Discover Deals jumbo postcards?"

Most likely! We will need to compare sizes and may need to adjust if your ad size is different from what we have available. But, if the ad is of good print quality, in most cases we can use your previously designed ad.

Can I put a QR code on my ad?

Yes! QR codes are recommended because they increase the response rate of new customers connecting with you.

If you already have a QR code that you want to use, that's great! Or, if you need help with this, I can create a QR code for you, and when it is scanned from your ad it will load the website or funnel page that you specify.

Can I put a coupon on my ad?

Yes! This is a great way to encourage new customers to engage with your business!

I think coupons are so great, that when you include a coupon in your ad that has a 10% off or greater value, I automatically apply a 10% discount on your ad price as a thank you for providing extra value to the people who receive a postcard in their mailbox.

You are under no obligation to provide a deal, coupon, or discount within your ad space. Special offers DO get you a higher response rate, though.

Do I have to also pay for printing or mailing costs?

No!

The ad prices listed on this page include 100% "Done-For-You" service.

This includes:

  • Completely new ad design, or, help to modify an existing ad design.

  • Full color, gloss-coated, Jumbo Postcard printing.

  • Banding and preparing stacks of postcards to USPS specifications and for specific USPS routes near your business location.

  • Delivery of the finished postcards to the Post Office that will be delivering them to customer mailboxes.

What type of payments do you accept?

I currently accept payments using any of the following:

  • Stripe

  • Paypal

  • Venmo

  • Paper Check (in person or mail)

  • Cash (in person only)

Do you accept multiple/split payments?

Most advertisers prefer to pay in full at the time of booking their ad on a postcard, for simplicity.

However, if you are a new advertiser that has not worked with me before, or, you are wanting to see and approve of your ad design before paying in full, I can work out a 50% payment at the time of booking the ad, and the remaining 50% after you have seen and approved the design of your ad.

All advertisement spaces MUST have design approval and be paid IN FULL 2 weeks prior to the mailing date in order for printing and mailing to be fulfilled on time.

How often do you mail 5,000 Jumbo Postcards in my business area?

I work with multiple cities in the Northern Illinois area. However, in order to take care not to over-saturate your local market with jumbo postcard ads, I only send them once every 2 months in the same area.

For businesses that want their ad to display in every combined jumbo postcard mailing that I do in their area, they can pre-pay for up to 1 year of advertising (6 mailings, each approx. 5,000 postcards) and receive an automatic 10% discount on their total advertising cost.

I can also provide "Done-For-You" direct mail service for businesses that want their OWN postcard mailing that isn't shared with other businesses. I can design and print any quantity and size of postcards that you need, as well as handle the delivery to as many homes as you want! Do I have to worry about my competitors ad showing next to mine?

I do not allow competitors to advertise on the same "DISCOVER DEALS" jumbo postcard! I respect your hard-earned money and your investment into gaining new customers for your business. I don't want you to be paying for ad space that is in direct competition with another business in the same product/service category as yours.

So, that means (for example), if you are an auto mechanic, then you will not see another auto mechanic's advertisement on the same jumbo postcard as yours. It is possible that you might see an ad for a business that does auto body detailing or an automotive parts store ad. But, you'll never see an advertiser offering the exact same product or service as you on the same postcard.

Another example... if you are a Doctor and you specialize in Pediatric Medicine, I will not allow another Pediatrician to advertise on the same postcard. However, I may allow a Chiropractor, Podiatrist, Therapist, or other specialization on the card since it is not in direct competition with you.

Exceptions:

  1. The "FOODIE" postcard, which contains ALL food/drink related businesses such as restaurants, bars, breweries, and wineries. This postcard is scheduled for delivery in MAY and OCTOBER each year.

  2. The "LIVE IT UP!" postcard, which lists special events going on in the area during the summer. Since the card is event-driven, there may be multiple venues on the same card that are competitors listing their own special events of the summer. This card is scheduled for delivery Mid/Late JUNE every year.

Do you give refunds?

If you are completely dissatisfied with the ad that I have designed for you, have not already approved of the design, and you request a refund at least 2 weeks before the mailing is scheduled to happen, I will give a full refund minus any credit card processing fees.

After your ad design has been approved, or the postcard has been printed or mailed, I cannot issue a refund. There are high overhead costs of providing these services that I have to pay to 3rd party vendors that cannot be reversed.

Do you also do exclusive direct mailings?

What kind of response can I expect from my ad?

If there was a clear-cut answer to this question, I would give it. However, there are so many variables that contribute to the response rate that you get from your ad.

I will outline just a few here:

  1. The need for your service or product. If you are offering a service or product that every household in the area needs or uses (for example, internet service or pizza delivery), then your ad is relevant to every home that receives it, and you'll likely have a great response.

  2. Your offer. If your ad doesn't have a special offer in it, you'll get a lower response. This is because people LOVE getting a good deal. They love not paying full price for something. When your ad contains a coupon, they are much more inclined to engage with your business. And, the better the offer, the higher the response you'll get. If you're a pizza place sending a Buy-One-Get-One coupon to 5,000 homes, you may become overloaded with response!

  3. Big ticket sales vs small ticket sales. First, the Big Ticket sale... If you are a home remodeler and your average project brings in $20k revenue, then you may be very happy with just one or two people (out of the 5,000 mailers) contacting you and engaging you in their remodeling project. That return on investment from placing a $590 ad is a no-brainer. Now, let's talk about Small Ticket sale... Let's say you're a local restaurant that brings in an average of $20 per customer. You've placed a medium sized ad for $360. The average response rate to direct mailing (according to USPS) is approximately 5%. So, if 5% of the 5,000 postcard recipients come to your restaurant and place a $20 order, that's 250 customers and a total of $5000 in revenue. Again, that's a no-brainer, a win for direct mail advertising. That response rate can be even higher when you add an irresistible coupon to your ad that people don't want to pass up!

  4. Reputation repair. Sometimes, businesses will need to advertise with extra vigor after they experience a situation where their reputation has been damaged. Let's use the same fast food joint from the last example here: Let's say at one point in the past, your food/service wasn't that great, and you ended up with some bad google reviews and/or the locals are resistant to giving you another try. After you have fixed the food/service problem that lowered your customer base, one way to repair your reputation is by placing advertisements that have a really fantastic coupon that people will find hard to pass up. The goal behind the ad is to draw people in with an irresistible offer, to give you another try at pleasing them with your food/service. In this case, it's really difficult to estimate what kind of response you'll get... this depends on how bad and how long you suffered with poor food/service, and how well you've remedied the problem. I highly recommend that, in conjunction with placing ads w/deals on them, that you print out hundreds of Google Review cards that you can hand to every happy customer asking them to leave a review in return for another coupon. This will greatly help to offset any bad reviews that have already taken place, and reputation repair can be well on it's way.

    As you can see, there are many variables! And, there are so many that I have not even listed here. These are just some of the biggest ones to consider. You have to decide what your business and revenue goals are before determining what size ad makes sense for you as well as what type of offer you put on your ad, and whether you even need a special offer or coupon on your ad. The local Values/Clipper magazines can be a great return on investment. However, there are some ways that the DISCOVER DEALS Jumbo Postcards really stand out and give an even better result for the money:
